Alice always approaches life logically and correlates this with her dance career; she finds unique methods to create clearer body awareness for herself and for those she teaches. This allows Alice to find precision in her movement and technique, as well as indulging in the inner-emotional and impulsive moves.
Throughout Alice’s training and career, she has continued to use imagery to support her dance practice and expand her movement vocabulary. She considers the mind to be a powerful thing, that can both help and hinder the body, if there is harmony with body and mind, then the options are limitless.
Towards the end of Alice’s training she found breath to be a useful tool to establish texture and dynamic flow in her movement. She continues to appreciate this method and encourages others to explore this in her classes.
In the studio, Alice takes delight in stimulating both mind and body simultaneously. She always wishes a healthy and happy atmosphere. She thoroughly enjoys working alongside other artists actively seeking new ways of moving together and embracing the art of collaboration
I love a challenge, both physically and mentally. I feel like I am forever learning and I always welcome new ways of moving and researching.Alice Shepperson
Alice is continually developing and refining her inclusive work…
She believes dance should be accessible for all movers and she aims to convey this through her practice. Alice thrives whilst teaching and leading, and feels she has a natural way of directing in the studio. She uses movement devices to cultivate the dancer’s own way of expressing; celebrating individuality whilst bringing a sense of unity into the studio.
